摘要:
The Asian market contributed around a third of the global amount raised by online crowdfunding platforms. Yet, crowdfunding research about this region is still limited. To address this gap, this preliminary study examined 714 Singapore-based campaigns launched on Kickstarter to determine characteristics of successful campaigns focusing on the appeal mode and sentiment displayed. We found that less than half of the campaigns were successful. The most successful campaigns displayed self-benefit appeal, and had an overall positive sentiment. The majority of the campaigns also targeted the global market.
